Seriously, really?

Has it been that long? I guess I have been a bit of a slacker these past few months, but that is how summer is I guess. We spent a lot of time at the beach and visiting family. My little brother left for the Air Force basic training in the middle of August so we tried to see him a lot. But now school has started, finally. Eli started 2nd grade and not very happily. He was very nervous before school started but now seems to be ok with being back. A few days before school he asked me, with tears in his eyes. "Why are parents so excited about school starting? Is it because they don't want their kids at home anymore?". Yikes.. I mumbled my way out of that one, explaining how important school is and how it would be fun to see his friends again. So far so good. Asher was upset when the bus drove away the first day, but I think it was more because he wanted to ride it as well. Asher and I are keeping ourselves very busy with playgroup and MOMS Club activities.

Brian and I celebrated our 12 year anniversary on Sept 7th! We had a nice lunch together and just spent the day hanging out together. It was a great day! We also went to see Jim Gaffigan a few weeks before that and had a great time actually going out, overnight without kids. It is always nice to recharge and remember life as a couple. I really am so happy and fortunate to have such a great husband who is also my best friend. He is pretty handsome as well..

Eli isn't playing any sports this fall so we are usually home every evening which is nice and low key. I will be running the book fair at his school this year, which could be interesting as I have never done anything like this before. I have really become a PTO mom, and I am ok with that..

Happy Belated Anniversary! I can't believe Eli is in 2nd grade. Book Fair sounds like a fun and rewarding (but maybe stressful) project - good luck! Love the new pics, such handsome boys you have!
