Hard to believe that it is that time again already. It will be an interesting summer with both boys at home. They are not used to spending so much time together so we will be busy. Eli has baseball, and some classes at the Nature Center. Besides those activities we will be at the beach a lot. So come for a visit, the water is fine.
Eli still has only lost 2 teeth, but his top front 2 have been loose for months. It is my mission to see them out sometime soon. That will make for some cute pictures, lucky for him it will be over the summer. He has a Madagascar Hissing Cockroach, Bob, that he got as a birthday present. He is very cool, and clean. Even Asher likes to hold him. Eli is still very in to Science and Pokemon, and has spent a lot of time this last year drawing stick men cartoons. You need him to interpret them for you and they are very involved with several twists and usually involving his buddy Aashish. He really is a funny kid and enjoys entertaining anyone who is interested in his antics, which is most people. I do believe we have the class of 2019's class clown living with us. Following in his Mother's footsteps. I couldn't be more proud.
The really big adventure this summer will be potty training, yeah! Not. Asher has been using the potty off and on for months but nothing structured but yesterday I mentioned M & M's and potty training and he was off like a shot. "I want to sit on the Potty!", so it has begun. He may weigh 50 lbs when he is done, but he will be using the potty! We are completely off the pacifier which is a huge feat, but thanks to a week of mouth sores it pretty much took care of itself. The final big transition this summer, late summer, will be moving to a toddler bed. Yes, he is still in his crib but you know what, he never tries to get out and I don't have to worry about waking in the middle of the night to find to shiny eyeballs peering at me over the side of my bed, not yet anyway.
Did I mention that my 21 year old Brother, yes he is 21 for all of you who have known him since he was 2, is getting married this summer. His bride is a long-time girlfriend who is 19, I am going to have a 19 year old sister-in-law. I do really like her, but man does that really make me feel past my prime. She did ask me to be a bridesmaid and I politely declined, I just didn't feel comfortable and she doesn't really know me that well so I think she was just being nice. But my sister Sara is going to be a bridesmaid and Brian and I are the Master and Mistress of Ceremonies, sounds naughty. Looks like the boys will be participating so look for those cute pics in the fall.
My sister Sara and her husband, who just celebrated their 2nd anniversary, are purchasing their first home. Very exciting, and maybe I will get a new niece or nephew sometime in the next year or so.. No pressure.

Currently Brian and I are waging a war on our yard that we haven't done anything with since we moved in. Much, edging, planting and battling grubs, which are disgusting. Eli was trying to save them all until one supposedly bit him, then all bets were off. Hopefully the yard will look nice enough to actually have people over this summer.
I spent a lot of time this school year attending PTO meetings, seriously who would have forseen this. I was in charge of the bookfair, and will be again next year, but with more help next year. I also took on a lot of roles within my Moms Club. Mentor Coordinator, Playgroup Leader and Activities Co-Chair. Sounds like a lot but really didn't take up much time. This next year I am only going to be doing Membership, which is finding new members, advertising and keeping the roster up to date. Moms Club has been invaluable to me since I joined when Eli was one. It is a great way to meet people with kids the same age and to be able to learn about a new area and all the great events available to you. I will be spending less time with the club in the next year or so. As the boys get older I want to spend more time volunteering at school. I am so lucky and grateful that I am able to do so much at school and in Moms Club. Thanks to Brian's hard work and Grandma's ability to spend time with Asher so I can be at Eli's school.
I haven't been blogging regularly since I have discovered Facebook.. Need I say more? I am making it a goal to try to blog at least once a week if not more over the summer. I spend way to MUCH time on Facebook, just ask the boys, so I need to start weaning myself off. A mid-year resolution?
